With tickets now on-sale, Monroe-based R-Squared Productions is offering a variety of creative ways to get students and families involved with the movie company’s new, locally produced, feature-length film, New Hope. With topics including peer pressure, alcohol, sex, suicide, relationships, and acceptance, New Hope captures the life of the modern teenager.
First, for a limited time through January, the company is offering free movie studio tours at their studio on Louisville Avenue. Small groups will get an insider’s tour of the post-production of the movie New Hope. They will meet the director, production manager, and other movie staff and learn about several aspects of the movie-making business, which is growing by leaps and bounds in Louisiana. To schedule a tour, call 318-323-6900.
Second, in the past week, R-Squared has delivered over 1,500 school-customized T-shirts to Ouachita Parish and Monroe City Schools, most of them free to teachers. Next, they are currently working with school principals in Ouachita and the surrounding five parishes to schedule student field trips to see the movie.
Finally, the company is sponsoring a New Hope Movie Poster Art Contest in the same six-parish area for elementary, middle and high school students. The deadline for submission is January 20, 2012, and the prize is $100 cash and 2 VIP tickets to the premiere on February 10 in each of the three age group categories.
