Hollywood Trucks Unveils the World’s First Clean Energy Powered Talent Trailer

New Orleans -based Hollywood Trucks has announced the launch of Ecoluxe, the world’s first line of luxury talent trailers fueled by 100 percent clean power. Designed under the direction of Hollywood Trucks CEO Andre Champagne and a team of industry professionals, Ecoluxe incorporates contemporary design with cutting-edge technology to create the most ecologically friendly talent trailer on the market. Beta versions of the Ecoluxe line are already utilized by many A-list stars and productions filming in Louisiana and Georgia, otherwise known as “Hollywood South.”ecoluxe

The Ecoluxe line is powered by a patent pending 100 percent clean energy system comprised of an advanced combination of solar and thermal technologies. A hybrid backup generator for emergencies is approved to utilize B20 biodiesel or ultra-clean, renewable synthetic diesel. Additional plug-in capabilities allow the trailer to run virtually silent at 25-30 decibels, another industry first. Energy efficient, low-voltage LED lights illuminate the 3-form® countertops that are made from post-consumer recycled plastics. The huge wrap around couch is covered in eco-friendly fabric and faces massive mirrored walls with embedded flat screens. Large Hehr® privacy windows keep the trailer cooler in any environment by reducing exposure to UVA/UVB rays. In recognition of its eco-friendly design, Ecoluxe has already received TRA Certification.

The expertly designed and technologically advanced interior features energy efficient 72” Samsung® 3-D flat screen smart TVs with 3-D surround sound, Apple® iMacs and wireless printers, Nest Co2 and smoke detectors, Apple TV, DirecTV® HD, Sony Playstation® 4, and Apple Extreme high-speed internet throughout the entire unit. All components are completely wireless and can be controlled from a smart device.

The top-of-the-line 43-foot long 5th wheel model is the largest, most luxurious, and technologically advanced Ecoluxe unit to feature the company’s proprietary 100 percent clean energy system. The Ecoluxe fleet also includes one, two and three room trailers with wardrobe units and hair and make-up models in development. LIFF Expands into Music Video, Animation, Interactive and New Media

In its sophomore year, The Louisiana International Film Festival is set to screen over 50 films, including major award-winners, documentaries related to Louisiana and southern history and Louisiana premieres.  The festival expands its programming into music video, animation, interactive and new media. liff

Keynotes and workshops presented by filmmakers from the following Louisiana productions: American Horror Story, Terminator, True Detective and more. Directors and Writers from: MGM, Universal, Columbia, Warner Brothers and Walt Disney Pictures will also be participating.

LIFF interactive programming includes speakers from and who have worked with Apple, Netflix and HBO with a special panel by Chris Garrity (Head of Innovation at the Super Bowl).

Comedy Central is presenting six world premieres with the Louisiana International Film Festival from TripTank with special guest show producer Scout Raskin.

To debut the music video component, Sean Lennon’s new short-form music film ANIMAL will premiere at the festival, directed by Rich Ragsdale, ANIMAL was recently performed on The Late Night Show with David Letterman, featuring LIFF Creative Director Alexander Antebi who was representing Louisiana dressed in neck to toe thrift, vintage and boutique fashion from Cowboys Western Wear from Scott, Louisiana to Time Warp Boutique and St. Vincent de Paul in Baton Rouge.

“We are watching films on our phones, television on our computers and YouTube on our televisions. As these medias are converging and evolving so must our programming,” states Chesley Heymsfield, Executive Producer of the festival.

This year’s star-studded line-up includes: A Thousand Times Goodnight with Juliette Binoche (Grand Prize Winner / Montreal World Film Festival); Siddarth (Beijing International Film Festival / Best Film Winner); God’s Pocket, with the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Christina Hendricks and John Turturro; Elsa & Fred set in New Orleans and starring Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer; The Double with Jesse Eisenberg; and director Roman Polanski’s second North American screening of Venus in Fur.

Mike Sippel Moves to Fletcher Camera & Lenses – Louisiana

Mike Sippel, director of engineering at Fletcher Camera & Lenses’ Chicago headquarters, has relocated to the company’s New Orleans location.

Members of Chicago’s film community came together in early January to express their appreciation for Sippel and his dedication to educating and supporting the Midwest production industry. Roughly 40 people surprised Sip with well wishes in his relocation to Fletcher Camera & Lenses – Louisiana.
