Monroe-based R-Squared Productions—the makers of New Hope, Flag of My Father, We Call Them Heroes and Desires of the Heart—is offering their next opportunity for area students: Free movie studio tours.
Students will get a “behind-the-scenes” look at the only studio in Northeast Louisiana that performs all three phases of the moviemaking process—pre-production, production and post-production. Students will tour sets and learn about their design, observe the use of movie equipment, participate in an editing session and contribute to sound design. They will meet the director and/or production manager and be involved in a question and answer session about movie making. Students of all ages will enjoy the tour.
R-Squared Productions has a history of service to students, offering workshops, youth-oriented film festivals, and crew/actor positions on New Hope.
“We love our community and our students,” says film director and owner of R-Squared Productions, Rodney Ray. “One of our goals is to showcase our beautiful region, while developing a homegrown film workforce by allowing students to be involved.”
Space is limited for the movie studio tours, which are planned for April and May. For more information, call 318-323-6900 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
